Nano Banana Pro: The AI Image Model Behind Flovaly

Nano Banana Pro generates the character portraits, scene images, and composed start frames that Flovaly's video models animate. Here's what it does and what it costs.

Nano Banana Pro is the AI image generation model behind almost every still on Flovaly. It creates character portraits, scene images, and — via its multi-image edit mode — the composed start frames that Flovaly's video models animate. Image generations start at 2 credits, and it is the default for both character and scene images.

What is Nano Banana Pro?

Nano Banana Pro is an image generation model served through fal.ai, registered on Flovaly as our best-quality image option and set as the default for character and scene generation. Give it a written description and it renders a still; give its edit mode a prompt plus reference images and it composes them into a single new frame.

That second ability matters more than it sounds. Video models are only as good as the frame they start from, and on Flovaly, Nano Banana Pro is usually the model that made that frame — which makes it less a side feature and more the foundation of the whole pipeline.

What it's best at

Nano Banana Pro does four distinct jobs on Flovaly:

  • Character stills — when you create an actor, Flovaly generates three portrait options from your description in parallel and lets you pick your favourite before the character is saved.
  • Scene images for face swap— generate a scene from a prompt, and the face-swap step places your character's face into it, so one actor can appear anywhere.
  • UGC start frames — in the UGC ad pipeline, its edit mode takes your character image and your actual product photo and composes one frame of the character holding that exact product, unaltered, which then drives image-to-video.
  • Standalone image generation— ad stills, thumbnails, and social images straight from the Studio's Image tab.

How to use Nano Banana Pro on Flovaly

It is the default image model, so there is nothing to configure:

  1. Open the Studio and click the Image tab in the composer mode row.
  2. Describe the still — subject, setting, light, framing. Specific, visual language beats mood adjectives.
  3. Optionally pick one of your characters so the generation features your actor rather than a stranger.
  4. Check the live credit cost next to the Run button, then run. The image lands in your gallery, ready to download, face swap, or feed into image-to-video.

For character creation, follow the Creating an actor flow instead — Flovaly runs the three-option pre-pick for you. For scene composites, see Face swap, and for image prompting in general, Generating images.

Pricing in credits

A standard Nano Banana Pro image generation costs 2 credits on Flovaly. The character-creation pre-pick is priced separately at 1 credit per portrait option — 3 credits for the set of three — and any option that fails to generate is refunded automatically, so you never pay for an image you did not see. A still-image face swap is billed at the same flat 2 credits as any image generation. For how credits map to plans, see Credits, plans, and billing or the pricing page.

Alternatives on Flovaly

Nano Banana Pro is currently the only general image generation model registered on Flovaly, so the real comparison is not image-versus-image but what you pair the still with:

  • Kling 2.5 Turbo (35 credits) — the image-to-video workhorse that animates Nano Banana frames while keeping faces and products intact.
  • Seedance 2.0 Pro (30 credits) — the default video model; attach a Nano Banana still for UGC-realistic image-to-video.
  • OmniHuman 1.5 (7 credits) — turns a Nano Banana character portrait plus audio into a talking-head video.
  • BiRefNet v2(1 credit) — companion tool that strips an image's background instantly.

When to choose Nano Banana Pro

In practice you rarely choose Nano Banana Pro — you use Flovaly and it is already there, generating your characters, composing your product frames, and rendering your stills. Reach for it deliberately when the deliverable is an image: ad stills, actor portraits, scene plates for face swap, or a carefully composed start frame you plan to animate.

The pattern that gets the most out of it: nail the still first — it costs 2 credits to iterate — then hand the winner to Kling 2.5 Turbo or Seedance 2.0 Pro for motion. Cheap frame, expensive clip, in that order.

FAQ

What is Nano Banana Pro?

Nano Banana Pro is an image generation model served through fal.ai and registered on Flovaly as the default for character and scene images. It renders stills from a written description, and its multi-image edit mode composes reference images into a single new frame. Standard generations cost 2 credits.

What does Nano Banana Pro power on Flovaly?

Four things: character stills (the three-option pre-pick when you create an actor), scene images that the face-swap step places your character into, composed UGC start frames of your character holding your actual product, and standalone image generation in the Studio's Image tab.

How many credits do Nano Banana Pro images cost?

A standard image generation costs 2 credits. The character-creation pre-pick is priced at 1 credit per portrait option — 3 credits for the set of three — and any option that fails to generate is automatically refunded, so you never pay for an image you did not see.

Can Nano Banana Pro put my actual product into an image?

Yes — that is what its edit mode is for. In Flovaly's UGC pipeline it takes your character image and your product photo as references and composes one frame of the character holding that exact product, keeping the shape, colours, and label unaltered. That frame then drives image-to-video.
